A 9-year-old boy has been missing from the house for the past three days after he was sent to fetch for water at a nearby streams. His guardians are now in the police custody at Sefwi Bekwai for fear of been lynched by residents.
A nine year old boy, Ernest Badu, also known as “Kofi The Boy” from Sefwi Donkorkrom in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality has been missing from the house for the past three days after he was sent by his grandfather to fetch for water at a nearby streams at Donkorkrom to take his bath to school. On his third time of fetching the water, “Kofi The Boy” didn’t return as usual. His action provoked his grandfather to leave for town without checking his whereabout.
Around 8pm on same day, “Kofi The Boy” hasn’t returned from the streams. This sparked fears among the relatives. They reported to the traditional and opinion leaders in the community.
The assembly man for the electoral area, Kakyire Daniel, explained how he was informed.
Currently, the grandfather, Kofi Kwaa, A.K.A Sika wo fie, 80, Adwoa Saa grandmother 65, Akua Sali, Kofi Kwaa’s daughter 23 and Sister Ama, Ernest’s step mother are in the police custody at Sefwi Bekwai after some residents threatened to lynch them suspecting they know the cause of the boy’s missing.
Also, mother of the victim, Rose Bekai, also told her side of the situation. She appealed to the police and public to help find her son.
Meanwhile, leader of the youth in the community, Kofi Kintoh, called on elite, political leaders and technocrats of Sefwi to commence a forensic investigations into the missing boy as such incidents are denting the image of Sefwi tribe.
