This gentleman who is our adorable Member of Parliament (MP) fought the incompetent, inept, abysmal, abbreviated and the misleader, former President John Dramani Mahama, who led the NDC government to initiate an awkward contract agreement between ghana government and Lonrho, a British company in 2014 which sought to restrict Takoradi seaport from expanding its oil and gas infrastructure. My goodness!

What struck me the most was the clause 7 of the said agreement which “bars Takoradi seaport from further expanding its facilities for oil and gas until Lonrho had built its Freeport, recovered all its cost and made enough profit”.

This can only be said to be an absurdity in the highest order and a total backward of an agreement which can only be passed out of sheer greed and envy.

But trust Hon. Kobby, perfectly described by my brother Abacha, as humble lion and Sky Walker, as the Western Pillar, prayed the court with support from his colleague MPs, Hon. Joseph Cudjoe, Effia; Hon. Kwaku Kwateng, Obuasi West; Hon. Hawa Koomson, Ewutu Senya and Hon. Kofi Brako, Tema Central to stop the incompetent and the misleader, Ex-President John Dramani Mahama from carrying out his restriction plan, which the court heeded. Subsequently, the competent court instructed both parties to carry out their respective projects.

But hypocritically from a leader who can only be forced to do the right thing rescinded his decision to continue the Freeport at Atuabo and shamelessly commenced the Takoradi Seaport Expansion. Today, they want to take credit of what they had NO HOPE in.

Instructively, Hon. Kobby stood at the time for both projects to be effectively executed but not one (Atuabo) at the neglect or collapse of the Takoradi Seaport.

This is the MP who loves his constituents and willing to do anything legally to ensure their wellbeing.

God continuously bless Hon. Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah (Hon. Kobby), MP for Takoradi Constituency and Western Regional Minister.
