Just after inaugrating a 40-member taskforce against illegal mining at Kumasi in the morning of Friday, August 20, 2021, he further led a team of Minerals Commission and Ministry officials to Commission the Adukrom community mining scheme in the Ahafo Ano South-East district.
The Adukrom community mining scheme is expected to directly and indirectly engage 7,000 people.
On behalf of Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, The Deputy Minister Of Lands and Natural Resources, Hon George Mireku Duker outlined the vision of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in ensuring that, community mining schemes are commissioned across all mineralized zones in the country as a surest alternative to get rid of illegal mining.
At the commissioning of the Adukrom community mining project, I assured the Chiefs and People that, government will support the operations of the project with mining & processing equipment and technical support through mining, geological, metallurgical and safety engineers to ensure they conform to standards of our environmental & mining regulations.
He used this opportunity to commend my good brother Hon. Francis Manu Adabor (MP) and Hon. Joseph Agyeman Dapaah (MCE) of Ahafo Ano South-East for their commitment towards the success of such a great opportunity for the people they serve.
