Today, Tuesday, 7th September 2021, the Technical Advisors at the SDGs Advisory Unit Office of the President, paid a courtesy call on me at the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC), Sekondi.
We had discussions on how well the Region is faring in the era of Covid. As Technical Advisors effecting advise to the President on the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals, I submitted to them during our interactions that the contributions of the Western Region through its public and private supports toward the SDGs have been significant.
The areas of education, health, economy, human dignity, security, etc have received appreciable supports through the leadership of the President.
I made it known that the Western Region has numerous innovators who through their ingenuity are supporting the agenda. Although a substantial amount of supports are being advanced through diverse policies, initiatives, and interventions, the Government of H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is still not relenting in efforts to improve the living standards of the people.
I took the view that the awareness of the SDGs must be embraced by all in order to facilitate its complete attainment.
Hon. Kobby Okyere Darko-Mensah, Western Regional Minister and MP for Takoradi Constituency.
