When a girl is near the guy, she hopes to marry, she is very careful to avoid any anger or impatience. And if he is interested in her, he makes a real effort to be polite and generous.
Then they marry. And what happens after that? They relax.
She thinks, “Now that we are married, I no longer need to be so careful to be respectful and kind to him. I can relax.”
Her husband is the same way. After the wedding he tells himself, “Now she’s my woman.” He no longer tries to think of her needs. Instead, he relaxes and thinks of himself. When he feels hurt because of something she did, he doesn’t forgive her. He allows himself to say hurtful words to her.
She does the same to him. So the hurts grow larger.
