Earlier, I joined the U.S. Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Stephanie S. Sullivan to commission the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the renovated public health Molecular Testing Laboratory for the Western Region. The Region has to deal with viral diseases, the MTL will continue to offer the real-time testing of infections and viral diseases i.e., molecular methodologies and assays.
I reiterated the government’s commitment to resourcing our health institutions and also to improve health infrastructure in the Region. I emphasized that the NPP government believes in quality health for the Ghanaians hence our agenda 111, where Western Region will benefit from six (6) new health facilities.
I further underscored the government’s efforts in dealing decisively with the Covid-19 pandemic. I thanked the health professionals for their immense support ever since the Covid-19 ‘reared its ugly head’ in the country.
