I joined our President, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Hon. Minister responsible for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, and his Deputy, Hon. George Mireku Duker to launch the National Alternative Employment and Livelihood Programme (NAELP) in Tarkwa, yesterday, 25th October 2021.
As part of the President’s objectives which targets an economic viability and safer environment for indigenes in the mining communities, NAELP has been launched as the intervention to provide seasoned modules which are expected to generate 220,000 direct and indirect jobs for the people of the mining areas.
I welcomed the NAELP because I believe it will help improve the lives of the people, especially, teeming youth of our beloved Western Region. I submitted that, for a Region that has Youth Development as a mainstream agenda, we see this initiative as complementary to the achievement of our agenda.
We, therefore, have no option than to lend our utmost support towards the successful implementation of this great Initiative.
