On November 13, 2020, I joined the Senior Minister, Hon. Yaw Osafo-Maafo and Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah to cut the sod for the Rehabilitation and Expansion of the Sekondi-Takoradi Water Supply System at the forecourt of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in the Western Region.
A project informed by the policy of government to get clean and potable water supply to all communities in Ghana in the long-term. A contract approved in parliament at a sum amount to €70 million and scheduled to be completed in 40 months time.
I commended the President, H.E. Nana Addo for such an arrangement, and government for recognizing the region’s water supply difficulties/challenges and potentially to reduce the water supply difficulties to the over 800,000 people within Sekondi-Takoradi and its environs.
