On 11th November, 2020, I led the observation of the 75th Remembrance Day at Takoradi Cenotaph for our gallant departed soldiers (veterans) who died in their line of duty.
The ceremony was observed by all commonwealth member countries which also commemorates the end of World War I.
Some non-member countries also observe (King George V’s tradition inaugurated in 1919).
At 1100 HRS, the siren was sounded, followed by the reading of the Biyon verse, a call to salute and two minutes silence was observed.
I laid wreath on behalf of government and the good people of Ghana and expressed the appreciation of government and commitment to supporting our veterans as they are no more in active service.
